Enertechnix Infrared Camera System Selected for Abengoa
Bioenergy’s Biomass of Kansas (ABBK) Commercial-scale
Cellulosic Ethanol Plant
Enertechnix, the leader in innovative technologies
for process and environmental monitoring to improve the
efficiency, cleanliness and safety of large-scale energy
conversion processes, today announced its infrared camera
system has been selected for use in Abengoa Bioenergy’s
Biomass of Kansas (ABBK) cellulosic ethanol plant in
Hugoton, Kansas. Enertechnix is supplying this equipment to
boiler manufacturer Factory Sales & Engineering, Inc. The
opportunity was secured through Kinetics Unlimited, Inc. and
Rhodes Equipment Company. This award brings Enertechnix
infrared cameras into the biomass power industry.

2.8.11 Washington State Life Sciences Discovery Fund Announces
Grants to Commercialize Promising Technologies
The Life Sciences Discovery Fund (LSDF) announced
nearly $600,000 in awards to support commercial development
of technologies to improve the diagnosis and management of
major health conditions. Two of the four new grants are
aimed at producing novel tests to diagnose or monitor
disease. Jane Burns at Seattle Children’s Hospital, in
conjunction with Enertechnix, a Washington-based company,
will adapt a novel air sampling device to collect exhaled
breath for non-invasive detection of lung infections.

Enertechnix Selected for Award by the NIH National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s Small Business Innovation Research Program
Enertechnix, a leader in airborne sampling, collection and classification technologies, has been selected by the National Institutes of Health National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to receive a Small Business Innovation Research award. Enertechnix’s advanced technology for personal exposure monitoring will enable aerosol sampling within the entire range of respirable particle sizes.

Enertechnix, UW Partnership Wins Funding for
Image-Processing Technology
Enertechnix, a Maple Valley–based manufacturer of
high-temperature imaging systems, is collaborating with the
University of Washington's Department of Electrical
Engineering to develop algorithms to control the cleaning of
heat-transfer surfaces in industrial processes.
